Welcome Home, Little Girl

The ten little girls living in the Girl Baby Home run by Russal and Kumari in Chennai will have a new sister tonight. Russal got word from a midwife in a remote village that a girl had been born. The family was planning on killing her because there were already girls in the family. Amongst the poor of India, it’s expensive to raise a girl and pay the dowry demanded by a prospective husband and his family. Dowries can bankrupt a family. Russal rode a bus for eight hours, praying he’d get to the village in time to save the little girl’s life. And he did.

Welcome home, Little Girl. You will have ten sisters who love you and you’ll wear frilly, pretty little dresses. You’ll have a birthday cake each year to rejoice in your birth. You will be loved.!/russal.raj

  1. And shw will be raised to know God. Hallelujah!

  2. I was praying for this to happen! Thanks for keeping us informed.

  3. God bless you in you bounty. Not everyone understands or knows your joy. You are truely blessed in this life and in the next. I cry for those who don’t know your joy. I come from a family of 14 but some of them think my parents had too many because we see so many struggle today. I pray they will one day know your joy that God never gives us more than we can handle with his aid.
